This memorial website was created in the memory of our loved one, Aiden Everett who was born in New Jersey on November 29, 2005 and passed away on February 15, 2006 . We will remember him forever.

 I'll Be There
Daddy please don't look so sad, momma please don't cry. 'Cause I'm in the arms of Jesus and He sings me lullabies. Please, try not to question God, don't think He is unkind. Don't think He sent me to you, and then He changed His mind
You see, I am a special child, and I'm needed up above. I'm the special gift you gave Him, the product of your love. I'll always be there with you, and watch the sky at night. Find the brightest star thats gleaming, that's my halo's brilliant light.
You'll see me in the morning frost, that mists your window pane. That's me, in the summer showers, I'll be dancing in the rain. When you feel a little breeze, from a gentle wind that blows, That's me, I'll be there, planting a kiss on your nose.
When you see a child playing and your heart feels a tug, That's me, I'll be there, giving your heart a hug. So daddy, please don't look so sad, and momma don't you cry, I'm in the arms of Jesus, and He sings me lullabies.

THE STORY OF AIDEN JAMES I was a week overdue so I got induced Monday night(Novemember 28,2005). Everything was ok until I started to see spots and my face was bright red(my blood pressure went really high) and they lost the baby's heartbeat. Next thing I knew, I was getting an emergency C-section. Aiden was born at 11:00am. He was 6lbs. 7oz. and was 20 inches long. As soon as he came out, he was crying and the doctors said it was a false alarm. On the second day of Aiden's life, the doctors found a heart murmur and told us we'd have to bring him into his office in a month. We had no idea it would be so serious. When Aiden went to the cardiologist (Dr. Ritz-one of the best doctors ever!) we found out that he had coarctation of the aorta, which means his aorta was narrow, and in his case, VERY narrow. He also told us that the other side of his heart had problems as well. His coronary arteries were also very small but there is nothing they could do about that. They would just have to wait and see if they grew on their own. Right after Christmas, we took Aiden to Alfred I. Dupont Hospital for Children in Deleware. Aiden had a cardiac catheterization done, which is when they cut a small incision in the groin area and put a catheter up to the heart (area) that has a camera to take pictures. From the catheterization they found out that he would need surgery right away. My son was exactly a month and a day old when he had his open heart surgery. After surgery, he was still on the heart and lung machine as well as a breathing machine for a number of days and had his chest still open in case they would need to go back in. We actually didn't think he was going to make it from the surgery because at first he wasn't doing very well at all. Then all of a sudden, a miracle happened and he started to get better and then day by day we would get good news. We finally got to go home after three weeks and all the doctors, nurses, everyone were amazed at his progress. The following week he went to his appointment at Dr. Ritz's office. He was amazed as well because he looked so good and everything. A week after that we were back in Dopont Hospital because he was pulling in hard to breathe. We then found out that one of the three lobes in his one lung collapsed. He went back into the ICU then came out again. He was doing well so we were supposed to go home in a couple days. A couple nights later he was breathing hard again....the following morning the nurses said he woke up screaming because he had a heart attack. The doctors had to ressesatate him and told us that he probably wouldn't make it through that day. We told them to put him on life support so everyone could come and say goodbye to him. We took him off the machines that night and were expecting him to pass away that night. He didn't. We got to bring him home and he lived for almost four days. He really was a miracle. My birthday was February 13 and he passed away on the 15th. Aiden was born with a very rare(1-25,000 are born with it) syndrome called WILLIAMS SYNDROME. It is a multisystem syndrome that can be life threatening, or you could live to be very old. Some of the symptoms are mental retardation,over-friendliness,HEART DEFECTS, short upturned nose, wide mouth, full lips, high blood calcium levels, etc. Aiden had very complexed congenital heart defects. From day one at Dupont Hospital, the doctors told us they didn't think Aiden would ever make it to pre-school...we just didn't think it would happen so soon. The doctors told us that they have never seen anything this bad(all the problems he had). I truely believe Aiden is a miracle, superman, and an angel. I will never understand this, but I know he watches down on us. I love him so much and I will never forget my sweet baby Aiden James. |
